When At The Miami Design District, Grab A Bite At OTL

For a quick lunch in between shopping sprees

When At The Miami Design District, Grab A Bite At OTL

[bigletter]Located in a hodgepodge of luxurious boutiques and designer stores within the Design District, lies OTL, a chic little coffee shop that includes some of my favorite bites and drinks: avocado toast, sandwiches and – of course – cafecito [coffee]! Opened by Miami’s very own David Grutman, along Craig Robins and the people behind a New York City restaurant dubbed ‘The Smile,’ this little gem seems like the go-to spot in the area for coffee, something that isn’t too filling and a quick chat with a friend or coworker.[/bigletter]

The style of the shop is minimalistic with modern-style furniture given a lift with touches of pastel in the chairs and cabinets of some of the furniture. You do get a bit of a NYC vibe, given that it’s in the midst of an area where everyone walks around, does their shopping and looks chic and unapologetic. It’s also in front of the very colorfully painted, blue and orange Fendi store – in case you can’t find it.

[dropcap custom_class=”whbr”]OTL serves breakfast, sandwiches, salads, snacks and happy hour with organic, healthy and locally sourced ingredients.[/dropcap]

The two-story, 7,000-square-foot restaurant and café is located at 160 NE 40th Street, and though I did not visit the second floor, I learned it will be used for activities such as yoga classes and meditation to interactive panel discussions, designer pop-up shops, and much more.

It seems like a perfect place to get together with friends, or hang out by yourself and read a book while you enjoy the chill environment and high end city-like vibes.

Why is this a #cutelittlespot?

Because it’s cozy, chill, and uncomplicated with its finger food. When you want to catch up with someone around that area, and you don’t know where to go, suggest OTL!

What did I eat?

The manchego & pear sandwich. It was delicious, but onion-haters BEWARE! It is not for you.

If you go:

It’s a corner shop right in front of the Fendi store.
