[bigletter]Kylie Jenner continuously proves that she and her sisters are marketing geniuses, and this holiday season, she has done it again. The beauty mogul released her holiday makeup collection at Macy’s, and it really is *chef’s kiss*.[/bigletter]

So, if you’re still Christmas shopping, scoping out a stocking stuffer or holiday gift for the makeup lovers in your circle of friends or in your family, definitely stop by Macy’s, where you’ll find Kylie Cosmetics‘ limited edition pieces thoughtfully packaged and embellished with details that will make the perfect gift for this time of the year.

They have a few options in terms of collections. There is an advent calendar, which is on sale, and since we are less than 12 days away from Christmas, you could snag it and break it down into smaller gifts and stocking stuffers for friends and family. It includes a mix of makeup and skincare products.

There is also the full Holiday Collection, which is the one the team at Macy’s actually gifted* me. Given that I had never tried any Kylie Cosmetics product in the past I must say, I thought this was the perfect chance to try everything out and recommend if I saw fit, and let me point out that I am very impressed.

I already had major respect for the brand because it’s clean, vegan and cruelty-free (and the reason why I say that, is because other brands such as Chanel Beauty haven’t really gotten with the times in terms of producing cruelty-free products), but I hadn’t ever gotten around to buying any of the products. Arrogance aside, I have so much makeup on my shelves from gifting and packages, plus what I buy for myself, that I’ve calmed down on the purchases in the past five years because I want to make better use of what I have and be more conscious of what I purchase and consume. But now that I’ve ecosplained* my motives for changing my consumption patterns in the past few years, lol, let’s move on to what you came here for.

With creative holiday-themed names to the colors and products, and festive colors in hues of red, pink, gold and beige, here are the products that are available in Kylie Cosmetics’ Holiday Collection.

Liquid Lipstick & High Gloss Vault

Five matte lip shades and four glosses come in this set. They’re for the friend who loves to keep a lip color in every bag or who enjoys shifting a ton between lip tones that are also on the bolder side. There’s nothing wrong with some variation and edge.

Highlighter

This highlighting powder is soft and more subtle than other highlighters I have used, such as Becca cosmetics’ which is a lot more pigmented. This one is on the mellower side but it provides a good amount of shimmer, which is great for everyday use, as opposed to a strong makeup look, which is when I go for one of Becca’s tones. I’m a big highlighter fan, so I’ll be carrying this one in my handbag.

Blush & Highlighter Cheek Quad

Ironically, this palette is delicious for summer. Peachy, pinkish and gold tones are my holy grail in the summertime for looking sunkissed and like I’ve just come from a day under the sun. The advantage of that is that these tones can easily become someone’s signature look. They allow for just enough color to give you that effortless daytime look.

Pressed Powder Palette

A holiday palette like this is what dreams are made of! The pinks, yellow and browns are ideal for a holiday party, dinner with family and something more quiet. Then the scandalous golds and silvers and glittery tones (my favorite ones) are perfect for nights out to dinner, to parties, or to ring in the New Year!

I recently used it for the look I wanted for my job’s holiday party:

Matte Lip Kits

(Left) O’Deer lip kit gives a strawberry cream pink color. Dashing lip kit leans towards a deeper red tone.

Once upon a time, Kylie Cosmetics got started with some lip kits, which include a lip pencil and the matte lip gloss to go with it. The brand’s signature pieces still go strong and are very popular, so naturally, they included a few of these in the collection, and in two stunning colors: O’Deer and Dashing.

The collection also includes Lip Ornaments, which are liquid lipsticks inside boxes that are shaped like Christmas tree ornaments in the form of reindeer. There is also a liquid face and body highlighter, for that extra shimmer and glow.

I not only think this is a well-thought-out collection, curated with loads of details, but I also think that the color palette allows for flexibility throughout the year. Red lips are a year-round staple. Eye shadow palettes that allow for day-to-evening shifting are also necessary if you’re anything like me where you stop by for bites and drinks after work with colleagues.

This collection is any makeup lover’s holiday dream come true, whether it’s one or a few people that you care for, or a self-love gesture you’re giving yourself for the holidays. Regardless, I definitely consider that the items are worth it.
