Repechage: A Skincare Brand And Its Magical Properties

The products are seaweed based

[bigletter]It’s more than clear that if you want the purest and most effective formulas for skin, hair and all-around wellness, you should look no further than Mother Nature. After a few weeks of research and some spa visits in Miami before the coronavirus took over our lives, I learned something I had never heard about; seaweed has amazing properties for skin nourishment. All the top spas I visited and got complimentary facials at used products that were seaweed-based, and all skin experts that took care of me at places such as Ciel Spa at the Delano, Acqualina Resort and Hyde Midtown, confirmed that seaweed is highly effective in providing the key vitamins and minerals that will hydrate and soften the skin.[/bigletter]

[dropcap custom_class=”whbr”] I also visited MassageLux in Downtown Miami and was especially attracted to the products made by Repêchage, after receiving a Four Layer Facial that left my skin feeling soft and hydrated like I had never felt it before. The process involved layers upon layers of creams and serums created by the brand, which uses seaweed-based minerals for all of its products. The 60-minute treatment ended with a hard face cast that you take off,  The company, which manufactures in New Jersey, focuses on acquiring seaweed in sustainable ways from the coast of Down East Maine and the Brittany Coast of France. Then the key components are integrated into moisturizers, serums, toners and cleansers within others, providing users with products filled with 12 vitamins including B12, C, E, K and Beta Carotene, 18 amino acids, and 42 trace elements.[/dropcap]

By an exclusive proprietary method, Repêchage chemists expel the intercellular fluid from the fibrous seaweed tissue while retaining the activity of the vitamins, minerals, trace elements, and amino acids, processed into the pure filtrate in small artisanal batches. – Repêchage

Though the facial was so relaxing and my skin truly felt softer, I wouldn’t dare vouch for something based on a one-time experience. A few days later, I received a gift with a few of the same products that the skincare expert had applied and used on me during the facial. That was the perfect opportunity to put them all to the test for a longer amount of time in order to properly observe if they were worth raving about – or not – and let me say that they are now fully part of my skincare routine.

For cleansing

[dropcap custom_class=”whbr”]My favorite product so far is the Hydra 4 Red-Out Cleanser. I had never understood the power of a cleanser or (what others call) a cleansing milk, until now. I had used a foamy cleansing liquid by Soap & Glory before, but I never really believed in the effectiveness of a cleanser, because I saw no difference in my skin before and after using it. Being old school and skeptical, I thought there was nothing that a little regular soap and water could clean. Though I think soap is great, the chemicals may be too aggressive on the face, especially if you have sensitive skin like me. The Red-Out cleanser is precisely for my skin type, and though the skincare expert at the spa told me it had helped reduce the redness on my skin, I wasn’t able to see it until I tried it at home for a period of time.[/dropcap]
The formula is a gentle cream that you can rub onto your face with the tips of your fingers or a FOREO if you’re looking for a deep pore cleanse. This is always the second step in my nighttime skincare routine – my first is removing my makeup with coconut oil.

For Hydration

Repechage has two serums, and they are to be used one after the other in the mornings and evenings. After cleansing and using a toner, one must apply the serums. First I apply the gold bottle serum, which is the Vita Cura Gold B3 Serum Complex, and then I follow with the white bottle serum, which is the Vita Cura Gold B3 Elixir Complex. The Serum Complex is formulated to provide youthful smoothness, visible lifting and firming, and a reduction in the appearance of enlarged pores. The Elixir Complex restores essential moisture deep within the surface layers of the skin while helping reduce the appearance of fine lines and wrinkles.

Apparently serums are really effective for the skin to absorb, and their properties are mostly related to restoring, whether it be through hydration, nourishment or anti-aging. Hyaluronic acid is great for hydration, and others are ideal for brightening or recovering the skin’s elasticity.

For under-eye protection

Out of all the Repêchage products I’ve been using, I apply the Opti-Firm Eye Contour Cream just in the evenings. It’s the last step in my makeup routine. I apply it in my eye contour area with my fingers and in a tapping motion. Some of its key ingredients are Shea Butter, Beeswax and Hyaluronic Acid. It’s a little bottle, and it’s meant to last 6 months, so I apply just a tiny bit. My morning routine is always topped off with some sunblock but in the evenings, once I’ve applied the eye cream, that concludes my skincare routine for the day.

I love natural products, and anything that is vegan and cruelty-free also has my support. Though these products are not budget-friendly, keeping them in mind as valuable parts of a routine is definitely a treat for the skin. Besides the cleanser, I have not seen instant results in any of these products, however, after a month of using them all religiously I do notice that my skin is more hydrated.

With love from Miami…
